I have to once again apologize for not making it to an event. I promise,
this is not the norm and will not continue if I can help it. For those of
you keeping track of the on going saga...I was not able to make university
because when I went in to the doctor on Friday, for what I thought was yet
another check-up on the leg I injured at Pennsic, the doctor decided that
since nothing has relieved the pain in the knee and ankle, that perhaps the
tendons and ligaments had healed too tight. To fix this he reinjured them
by pulling them in various directions essentially "rebraking" the ankle. It
was not fun. I am in a cast from knee to toe and can hardly walk. heavy
pain killers have been a primary friend since yesterday afternoon. I was
then taken out for dinner, as it was my birthday, and found that walking was
nearly impossible and after the pain killers, to try to sleep, I missed my
ride at 5 am. I worked so hard on the classes, I am very disappointed,
besides missing all of the fine folk of Atlantia.
Again, please forgive me. I am sitting here with my foot up and my spirits
down but I will see you soon. And I will give my class on Disabilities and
on the pigments along the silk roads at the earliest opportunity. Anyone
that would like to know, comment or start working with me and others on
making people with disabilities more comfortable at events and help
autocrats, cooks and seneschals more aware of the requirements form the ADA,
(or if you just want to say hi) please email me.
