[MR] Comments on Proposed revision of Corpora IV.A.1.

Let's boil it down:

1. Some of us feel disenfranchised since the BoD is not elected, and they feel they do not have a voice.

2.Some feel that change to Crown would be bad, as change is always bad.

3.Some feel that change to Crown would be good, as change is interesting.

4.There are valid arguments both way abouts Crown.

Whatever way you feel is the better pertaining to Crown, wright the BoD, the Kingdom Seneshal, etc. This is how your voice is heard within our club. Each e mail or letter acts like a vote. We can snipe at each other all day on e mail, spreading hate and discontent through misunderstanding on email. Or try to franchise yourself, and effect policy. The only way to effect change, or kill it, is letting the people up above know. It may not seem like it would work, nor is it as satisfying as getting your emotions vomited out on e mail after reading something that irks you. However, a massive letter campaign does work, it got Star Treck back, didn't it?

So, make sure you put in your vote for the Seneshal War Tourney!!! Woo Woo!!!

I definately view it as a change; so does the Board; they can
issue a G&PD to 'clarify' a section of Corpora without member
comment; they didn't feel that this is a clarification. This is a
change, period, end of story.

I find your last sentence interesting. 'the contest is
judged...' yes, but only by the participants. Those of us watching
may form opinions on the merits of the contestants, but these
opinions have no effect on the results of a fight (unless you happen
to be the Marshall or the Crown...) And, frankly, if 'fortitude and
strength' are all that is being displayed we are definately going
about this all wrong. I'd rather see inspiration and chivalry carry
the day than tireless use of a big shield and a heavy hand with a
sword defeating opponents by battering their shields until they can't
lift them any longer (been there, didn't enjoy it. :-) Strength is a
valuable talent for a knight; speed is often even more useful;
neither is something that is used while sitting on the throne.

A simple thought experiment: who was the greatest fighter in
Arthur's kingdom? It wasn't Arthur.
