if nothing else.. this aveloc issue has made people stop, think
and look at change..
that in and of itself is a good thing.

this is a cold medium.. without the nuances of speech and facial
expression people frequently take  each other wrong.

The issues at hand invoke passions and at times when the debate
gets heated, passionate... people on the same page do not realize
it..  as reason has flown out the window...

I have watched many lists across the known world in the past
weeks start with, ''pssst did you hear??'  to stop, look, listen
and start to examine many aspects of the society.

For SCA to continue to grow.. change, no matter how unwelcome is
inevitable.

I remember 4 yrs ago when the rent was raised on membership.
the hue, and cry was amazing...  Now, as the same issue has
reared its pointy head again, rather than rend our clothes and
pour ashes on our heads.  I see communications, and alternatives
being sought.
That was NOT the case in 1997.

Perhaps Aveloc has achieved success beyond his wildest dreams..
he was and perhaps shall remain a catalyst for change that we
need to grow and remain viable.

NO it ain't broke and maybe does not need fixing...but a nice
shiny coat of paint won't hurt will it?
