I have tried to let this go, but something that everyone keeps forgetting
is that the BoD is no one person. It is a body, IIRC of seven. Seven
people from different walks of life, from different geographical regions
bringing with them different points of view. Once check that they have
is each other. They have to be able to look at their constituencies in
the eyes and tell them that stewardship of the SCA Inc was completed in
the best interests of all concerned.

For all intents and purposes, and R&D is a death sentence. Has anyone
paid attention how hard it is to get a jury to pass a death sentence? In
many jurisdictions it require a unanimous verdict by the jury. One vote
against means the convicted person spends life in prison. For the BoD to
come to a unanimous verdict means that the evidence had to be pretty
solid, or else the BoD is a bunch of blithering idiots, in which case
_none_ of the actions of BoD would make sense.

Perhaps I'm a bit naive (ok, maybe a lot!), but I am no conspiracy
theorist. I may have been born in the sixties, but I don't automatically
assume that all authority is to be mistrusted.

There has been times in the past when the BoD has pulled some boneheaded
stunts, but these were opposed by the populace, and BoD reversed its
position. If this situation falls into this category, I'm confident that
the pendulum will swing back.

At any rate the BoD has acted in what it felt was the best interest of
the SCA. Just as there a number of people who believe that the accused
is innocent until proven guilty, I happen to believe that the BoD is
likewise is innocent until proven guilty, and not proven so in the fickle
court of public opinion.
