Hello all, This is Sir Daemon sneaking his wife's email account so
all the following are Daemon's and not Emma's.
I have to strongly agree with HRH Logan on this matter. Crown
tourney should be single combat. Within the melee scenario there
are just to many things that can go wrong. What if there are 20
fighters and 18 of them fight on one side? What if they are
randomly spit but then 6 out of the 10 on my side don't really want
me to win...will they truly fight as hard as if they wanted me to???
As for using Acre as an example, sure, why not? In Acre if a
person wants to be crown then they can hire a champion to fight for
them, right? So now I just have to have enough money to pay HRH
Logan, Anton, Michael, Keigan, Havorc, Cuan, and Ragnarr to fight
for me in crown and I can sit in the shade on the side-lines sipping
ice tea and watch. No months of training or years of aquiring skill
required, nor inspiration from my Lady. Wow, what fun that would
be for all involved. (This is my sarcasm slipping through) Imagine
what a great monarch I would make if this is how I got to the
throne. Or, rather than cash I could promise peerages to all those
who fight for me, hey you want to be a _______(fill in the peer title
here)?
OK, that rant is over.
Single combat people, it shows more than just fighting skill. To
aquire the skill takes years of practice, training, commitment and
sweat equity. You want to be the King? Earn it.
I know about earning it, I believe that I have made the quarters
more often than most and I have yet to sit the throne. You know
what that means? The people who beat me were better, more
experience, faster, more inspired, less tired, or I just didn't do the
job I needed to do. Whose fault is that, Mine. I want to win the
crown myself for my lady, not with the help of all the friends I can
pile onto the field at the end.
A Man has to step onto the list field and faces death alone, to
bravely call the field his and no man dare challenge him, with valour
and skill to change his fate or die trying, with his ladies love to win
Her a Crown.
Never give up,
Daemon
