	Close.  Required membership is not the rule in the SCA.  If 
you don't like what the Board does, you can stop sending money to 
California.  If you do, I suggest writing them and telling they why. 
It's what I've done the last 8 years.

	The Grand Council was recently asked by the Board to examine 
ways to increase membership.  Obviously the flat- to very slow climb 
in membership numbers, relative to pre-1993, has gotten their 
attention.  We have been discussing this topic for since early 
December.
