[MR] Land War A&S explained... (fwd)

This message is going out to the Stierbach list and to the Merry Rose as 
well as to their Excellencies of Windmaster's Hill and their esteemed 
Seneschal; I would ask that you please pass this on to other members of your 
barony at your convenience.

My apologies for getting this information out so late, but here is the scoop 
on the Arts and Sciences War Point at Land War.

The competition is open to all members of either barony.  You may enter as 
many pieces as you want with the restriction that no piece may have been 
previously entered into an SCA A&S competition.  Each piece will be placed 
within one of the following categories.  The entries will be judged, and a 
winner declared in each category.  The barony who takes the most categories 
wins the single A&S war point.

People from outside the warring baronies are welcome to put their items on 
display for comments as well, however they will not be a part of the war 
point competition.  There will be no individual awards other than the praise 
and recognition by others.

I will be sending out a seperate posting to the Kingdom list, but I would 
like to mention here that we are looking for judges--specifically judges 
from outside our area!  THis is somewhat short notice right after Pennsic, 
but if you feel you would like to judge one or more of the categories below 
then I would welcome your assistance.  Contact Ii Saburou Katsumori at 
logan at modzer0.cs.uaf.edu.

The categories are below along with some suggestions of what may be found in 
each (this is a slightly abbreviated list from the Kingdom A&S web site--we 
have included crafts, but not cultures).  Documentation is not required, but 
is encouraged and may greatly assist in the scoring.  If you have an item 
that fits in multiple categories or you believe fits in none of the
