[MR] NonMember Charges

Greetings to all,

I hope someone with more authority to speak on this does so soon, but as
someone who was at the Board meeting and there heard about the changes to
Atlantian Law, here is my understanding: The Atlantian changes were made in
anticipation of the Board's decision, and as I understand it, were
specifically worded so as to expire when the Board's charges went into
effect. Therefore, you will price your events as you always have,
non-members will pay an additional three dollars, and, once the board's
changes are in effect, that three dollars will be forwarded to the
corporation, so they will have no impact on how autocrats price their
events. I believe that as things stand now the three dollars go to the
kingdom, but I cannot speak with authority on that. I would advise that
one's best approach to this and similar situations is to realize that the
SCA and the Kingdom are generally run by intelligent people who want the
best for the SCA and the Kingdom and really have no interest in pricing
events out of existence. Then, take a deep breath and calmly ask around to
find out the truth of the matter, probably in a private forum, at least to
start with. If you then find that in fact something you believe is a dire
threat to the SCA, Kingdom or your event really does exist, that might be a
better time to bring it up in a public forum.

In service,
