Good Gentles,

The University catalog in the Acorn that will be arriving in your mailboxes
soon is different from the past. The paragraph or so of description for each
class is not included. This decision was made for financial reasons.

University is funded solely through donations. Expenses have been growing.
There are two main expenses for each session, catalog publishing in the
Acorn and site fees. As University has grown in size, free sites are harder
to find. But we do get them.

The Acorn expense is for the extra printing and mailing of the catalog. For
the last three sessions, that has been a total of just over $1000. In the
interest of using funds wisely, the class descriptions will not be included
in the Acorn. I would appreciate feedback about this change.

Class descriptions will be available on the University web site
http://university.atlantia.sca.org/catalog.html  This seems to be a
reasonable alternative as most of the pre-registrations are now done via
email. From that we gather that the populace has access to the web. I will
happily send a Word file of the complete catalog to any who ask.

Our devoted chronicler and US mail have outdone themselves and beat Lady
Pavla getting the catalog on the web. Please be patient, it will be up soon.
