[MR] A Plea For Help

Please forgive the distraction from this lively and entertaining discussion; 
I know it has given may of you a great deal of entertainment, but I need 
help.
I have an 8 year old cat that needs a loving home. Since I moved out of my 
parents house, there is no longer anyone there to look after her. She is an 
indoor-outdoor cat, spayed, and up to date on all her shots. She is shy, but 
has lived with 2 other cats and a 65 pound dog.
It would be better if she could go to a house without small children, but 
not absolutely necessary. I am willing to bring her wherever I need to to 
give her a home.
If I cant find her a home, she will have to be put down (either by my 
family, or the SPCA). She is a beautiful cat, mostly black with white on her 
chest, paws, and a smudge on her nose. Her name is Velvet.

Please, if you are willing to take in a cat or know someone who is, let me 
know. I have had this cat since I was a child, and parting with her is one 
of the hardest things I have ever done. Having to put her down would 
devastate me.
