Greetings unto the members of the Merry Rose from Duchess Marie Simone de Barjavel:
I have decided to make my own little statement here about the Queen's arms debate.
I have already returned my form to Lord Michael (the lucky man that gets to deal with this!) and my thoughts are as follows. I prefer the simpler, less cluttered look of the plain escallop. I was never insulted by the use of the ermine escallop- nor am I so enamoured of 'tradition' that I don't think things should never be changed. An ugly comment was made, the Queen choose to make an issue of it and requested the change in the arms. This is now past history. Let us go forward. If we are going to change the arms, I personally prefer the coronet encircled by a wreath of roses. And I would like artistic license to draw the coronet with BIG fleur de lis on the points....perhaps if I'm ever Queen again I can do that.
I'm pleased to see how many remember and honor our past monarchs- it was our pleasure and honor to be able to hold the Crown of Atlantia. I'm also pleased at how many care vehemently about a lady's honor ( any lady's - for any could have the opportunity and joy of being Queen). I ask that this subject be handled off list- by popular vote- as TRH have requested (send back your questionnaires). Let us turn our voices now to supporting our new Queen in her first reign.
Simone
