Like many people, I have stayed out of this discussion, hoping to see
someone else offer my viewpoint. So far, no one has.

As long as the scallop shell has the spots on it, whether it's the arms
actually being displayed by the queen or not, some people are going to
continue telling the story, and this disgusting "pun" will never die. It
will be worse if there are two sets of arms, because new people coming in
are *always* going to ask why it changes from one queen to another.

If we remove the spots, eventually this story will die. Newcomers will have
no reason to ask why the scallop shell *doesn't* have spots, as no shell is
*supposed* to have spots, and only those who are truly crude will continue
telling the story.

I don't care if we simply remove the spots or if we redesign the arms
entirely, but the erminois needs to stay gone.
