The non-aerosol version also comes in yellow and blue. I use those,
specifically, to tip my bated rapiers and epees. I can attest that the
non-aersol version of tool dip stands up quite well to hard use and I have
never had any problems with it rubbing off on my opponents' garb. I have
heard reports that some folks have had this problem with tooldip, but my
suspicion is it is with the aerosol variety. You may want to take that
into consideration when using tool dip for whatever project. The
directions on the can of the liquid tool dip do make it clear you can brush
it on, as opposed to actually dipping your items in it, which is what I do.
Since you need to dry at least 30 minutes between coats and allow to cure
overnight, I imagine you've got some good wiggle room with a brush to work
the liquid stuff out to the thickness and consistency you want before it
dries too much.
