Greeting to Duarte Negin de los Angeles y Blanco
from Syr Christian
Darmody,

We should take this discussion 'off-line'.
It is obvious that we need to talk-face to face. The Merry Rose is a poor
forum for serious disagreements and lends it's self to emotional diatribes.
It is easy to see that you have jumped to conclusions about my post. In
short, I found your response to my posting to be terribly insulting as it was
venomously refuted, obviously based on misconstrued interpretation of my
post. I cannot believe anyone would be so daft as to make an enemy without
first extending the courtesy of asking for clarification. So this is what I
offer. If my understanding of your post is indeed your point
(I cannot see how it is not), then the following has occurred. You have
directly insulted me. You have challenged me, and rudely insinuated that I
used said crass pun when I simply displayed how easy it is to jest in poor
taste. You insist that I be ashamed. Lastly you spit insults at the Chivalry,
referring to us, as lower swine, immature, moronic, and of little class. Poor
choice and bad form. I believe that I was the one you replied to. Do you
needlessly want to involve the entire peerage? Secondly, the one who you
would challenge to would be our Princess, it is she who asked input in regard
to the device change.
However, I would like to give you an opportunity to clarify the points
you asserted in your message.

First of all, I am not sure you have ever met me and that you are
drawing conclusions about me and the Order of Chivalry without a great deal of
knowledge of us. Mind you, I have been a close, personal friend of many of the
Queens of Atlantia over the years, including the current Queen. I assure you,
my
posting was formed by these relations and my personal beliefs.

Your response was a direct attack on my honor, my beliefs and the Order
of Chivalry in general. While not every person can live up to the
ideals of their Peers, you should not assume that the rest do not at
least try.

As an offer of courtesy, I ask you, Did you mean to convey what I have
interpreted?

I think that e-mail does not lend itself to proper resolution of
disagreements, especially in this situation. If you were going to be at
Coronation this weekend, I would enjoy an opportunity to discuss matter
with you face to face.
I truly hope you do not think I am the scoundrel you painted me to be.
I do not know you; therefore, I offer you a chance to recant your
statements and to make amends. I do not take challenges, especially
public ones, lightly.
I hope we can resolve this without remorse.

Syr Christian Darmody
