I usually do not jump in on things like this and mostly lurk but it seems to
me there are high emotions and strong feelings on either side. It also
appears that regardless of the change, feelings are going to be hurt and
anger is going to remain. As it has been said removing the fur did not
remove the pun but just modified it, Returning the fur seems that it will
just solidify the old pun. In times like these, a compromise is surely best.
If the two sides can't decide on the shell, changing it completely to a
crown is the better way to go. It's more keeping in the design of the
kingdom arms, it can't . . .hopefully... be canted into something juvenile
and neither side can point fingers at the other. We would then have a simple
attractive device any fighter would be proud to give a consort and NO
consort would be embarrassed to display.
Having something that is hurtful to some, is ultimately hurtful to all.
