[MR] Flannel wool care

I am looking for a gentle who can advise me in caring for the new
flannel wool cloak that I bought at Pennsic. It has been soiled, and I
must clean it. Although most online references say to dry clean, I am
concerned that this process will remove all of the lanolin and eliminate
the wool's ability to repel water. How should I go about cleaning this
cloak? It is a two layer green/black reversible; both sides are the
flannel wool. The stains are unknown, and have a milky, non greasy
appearance. It may be stained with Pennsic dust and water, but I'm not
certain.
