Greetings to the Patrons of the Merry Rose,

The days grow shorter, the harvest is in, and it is time for Atlantia's
scholars and artists to pick up pen and ink and share their accomplishments
of the year with the Kingdom.

Just a reminder that the next issue of The Oak, Atlantia's arts and
sciences newsletter, is scheduled for publication in January. There is
still ample room in the next issue, so if you've been kicking around an
idea for an article or artwork, please drop me a line. I would like to
have the final list of articles settled by the end of October, so you've
got a couple of weeks to make up your mind.

As usual, we are in particular need of original artwork. Spot art and
borders are good, and I would especially like to feature an Atlantian's
work on the cover of the next issue. There is no particular theme, but
keep in mind that "The Oak" is photocopied, so artwork generally needs to
be black-and-white line art or high-contrast grayscale.

For general information about "The Oak," you can check out the unofficial
Oak web site at:

http://www.his.com/~tom/sca/oak/oak.html

If you have any questions regarding a submission, I will be at Atlantian
University on October 6th in Boone NC (and of course you can reach me by
email or call).

Your obedient servant,

Fin
