My apologies if you get this twice. I am attempting to
disseminate information in the fastest way possible
due to the short time frame involved. (Master Finnr,
would you please post this to the Yarnvid lit for me?)

Red Cross Benefit Ribbon Tourney
September 26th, 2001
Viking Thing
All of us as Atlantians know the joy of service. As
there is a national crisis in our country now because
of the terrorist attacks on the WTC and the Pentagon,
many of us have answered the call, giving blood and
donating money to relief services. But many of us
still feel helpless and wish we could do more. This
tourney offers us a chance to channel our energies to
something positive and help our fellow man at the same
time.
After the scheduled fighting at Yarnvids Viking
Thing, this Saturday, September 26th, 2001, a Benefit
Tourney for the American Red Cross will be held.
Entrance Donation: Each fighter entering the
tournament will make a $5 donation. Any groups, or
individuals that wish to sponsor a fighter may do so
as well. (Additional any other donations to the Red
Cross will gladly be accepted.)
Format: This will be an open challenge tournament.
(Fighters may not challenge down. Example: A Knight
is not allowed to challenge unbelts, however he may
challenge other Knights or Royal Peers, etc.) For
your $5 donation you will receive five Red, White, and
Blue ribbons. As you make your challenges and fight
your rounds, the loser will present the winner win one
ribbon for each fight. Once you are out of ribbons,
you may receive more for a donation of $1 a ribbon.
(Likewise an individuals or groups may donate money to
keep any fighter in the tournament.) The victor shall
be the fighter that has the most ribbons at the end of
tourney. In the case of a tie, a final round will be
fought. There shall be a prize for the winner of the
Tourney as well as tokens for every fighter that
participates.
Any one that wishes to donate there time as a line
marshal or water-bearer would greatly be appreciated.
I realize that this is extremely short notice, and I
apologize. If there is an opportunity to do this
tournament again in the future, so that more folks
could participate, I would be happy to host it again.
Many Gracious Thanks to the Autocrat, Master Finn, the
College of Yarnvid and His Excellency of Caer Mear,
Baron Balynar for allowing us to sponsor this tourney.
Peace,
Bryce de Byram, OL
