As an aside from all this "which should be allowed"...
My newsreader has no trouble reading HTML... *BUT* when you get the Merry Rose in the digest form, at least, it translates it into gobbledy gook text form. In other words, even those who *can* read HTML normally can't read those posts without at least a little difficulty. MIME, by the way is even worse.
If you *can't* figure out how to shut off the HTML, then , oh well... live and let live. But, if you can, please do for the sakes of all of us here who are stuck with trying to weed through things to see if they're of interest to us personally... or if they're of great import, that we have a chance of reading it without standing on our
heads while squinting through one eye past a cup of water.....er, well... it seems that way at times.
Simple... why argue good, bad, indifferent. Those who desire to show courtesy will avoid HTML if they can... though mayhaps one reminder might be welcome as they may not even realize they send in that manner. Those who can't shouldn't be continuously yelled at and debated. Those who chose not to be courteous... well... I do hope they
think again why they desire to be within a group where courtesy should be foremost at least nearly all the time, and maybe figure out why it might not be "proper" to be discourteous.
Thank you.
-Elisabeth (sorry, I'm just getting a little tired of the arguement... those are the three choices that people can belong in... and if someone states they can't or won't change, and doesn't ask for help, there isn't much anyone can say to change their minds.)
