[MR] Request for Help

Greetings to those citizens of the great Kingdom of Atlantia, The Barony of Nottinghill Coill and other members from surrounding areas.

As you may know, Lord Arthur of Clann Lochlan, otherwise known as Bear, has been debilitated recently with heart difficulties and is awaiting placement of a pacemaker, automatic defribulator.  He is due to be released late this weekend.  What you may not know is what he is returning home to.  Bear and his wife, Lady Bronwyn, have been without running water in their home for more than a month now.  Their home has well water and the pump is shot.  Also the bladder tank has now rotted out.  Bear and Bronwyn have had several quotes and the most reasonable one was for $1000 including parts and labor.  They are unable to shower at home, and have to transport via gallon jugs, water from friends and neighbors.  Because of Bear's disability, I cannot forsee the financial ability to have this repaired on their own.

I feel that I come to you about this not as a SCAdian, not even as a neighbor, but as a friend of those we have come to know and love.  Anyone who knows Bear and Bronwyn know that they are some of the most giving people around, often going without so that their friends and loved ones have their needs met.  To give you an example, Bear has put many an Atlantian Soldier on the field of battle solely with armor he financed and made.  A great number of us have been the recipients of their loving care and now I am coming to you to ask for assistance in their time of need.   

A long time ago and far-far away, I had it engrained in my head that "Charity begins at Home".  Knowing this, I have consulted with a Carolina First Money Manager and have decided to start the "Arthur of Lochlan Fund".  This will be started through Carolina First Bank and as soon as we can get the forms signed, the account will be opened.   

I urge anyone who is able, to contribute to this fund.  If you do the math, 200 people contributing $5 each could have this problem solved.  And what is $5?  The price of brown bagging one day's lunch and forgoing McDonald's or Taco Bell to help a friend.
