Another thing to think about is being media savvy. As a former reporter at a
small paper, I was often searching for photos. Two guys hitting each other
with sticks, wearing armor, and holding brightly blazoned shields is a
picture waiting to happen.

This means that we should encourage local papers to cover demos, especially
the ones at the aforementioned street fairs. I know it worked for me. I
first learned of the SCA by seeing a picture of a fighting event on the
front page of a back issue at work.
