Into the tavern enters the bard with raven hair
And shyly takes her place and waits
Until all see her there.
The lilting tones of dulcimer will then begin to ring
And blending with the notes so clear
The bard begins to sing...
I tell a tale of a wondrous place that they call Crannog Mor
The Feste D'Autumne is drawing near and so goes out the call.
They've taken thou to Scotland and have traveled on to Spain,
And as days roll slowly by, they travel yet again.
To France in all its splendor is where they land this year,
Out goes the call to Cardinal's Guards, Bandits and Musketeers.
To Heavies in their armor, with sword and shield at ready,
And Archers with their eagle eyes and hand so ever steady.
A Heralded processional will begin the day's events
To introduce combatants and consorts unto the populace.
So 'tis wise to bear the favor of the one that you hold dear,
And even better would it be if you could have that person near.
For not only do the winners on the field receive their due,
But the Consorts that they fight for will also get one, too.
And all throughout the day, to instruct the mind as well,
Dyeing, Dancing and Massage classes also will be held.
And as the light of day gracefully fades into firelight
The Brewing competition will be held that Saturday night.
And on the Bardic Island, all the Bards will then compete
With original composition, says the fair Lady Elize.
And last of all, but certainly not in the very least
Baroness Brighid will delight you with her feast.
Ten removes a la francaise are going to be prepared.
Can you sample every dish; will you take the dare?
All this and more await you all
At Feste D'Autumne this fall.
Come revel with the gentles
Of the Shire of Crannog Mor.
And Having sung her song,
The bard fades out of the light
And wishes all the patrons of the Merry Rose
A Warm and Fond...
Good Night.
