Good Day to All Gentles,
I am new to the SCA, but have been following the
messages in the Merry Rose with interest. This may
not be the format to which we discuss the tragic
events which occurred on Tuesday, September 11, 2001,
but it has become a place where all can come to
grieve, vent frustration, express shock and/or
support, or say things we may not ordinarily say. I
thank you all for your time and attention as I voice
my opinion on the matter.
I pray for all those victims on the highjacked
planes, who knew they were doomed before they died. I
pray they found peace in themselves and whatever
higher power they held dear.
I pray for all the victims at the World Trade Center
and the Pentagon, who left for work as usual in the
morning, planning what would be for dinner when they
got home, and never made it.
I pray for all the firefighters, police and other
emergency personell who everday put their lives on the
line proctecting an unsuspecting public who simply
wanted to lead their lives as normal.
I pray for all those as yet unaccounted for.
I pray for all the families who have lost members.
I pray for all the families who have missing members.
May they all find the strength and comfort they will
need to make it through.
I pray for those who thought they were doing right by
doing an incredible wrong.
I pray for those who were behind the planning and
execution of this terrible event.
I pray for my country, that this may make us stronger.
A more united United States than possibly at any
other time in our history.
I pray for my children, that they may be as lucky as I
have been, to see their children grown in the freedom
that our great nation provides.
And I pray that my children's children will have the
same.
It is not my personal feelings about those that
committed this act that are important at this time.
It is how I react to their actions that matters most.
Thank you for letting me have my say.
In Service,
The Nameless One
=====
May the Lord keep you in His hands,
And never close His fist too tight.
