Subject: [STEPS] In honor of those fallen in the East Realm and Atlantia

    Good my friends,
As you are most likely aware, the mundane world was stricken by the
horrible images of wanton and cowardly attack this morning. Nithlings
and cowards took possession of airliners and deliberately crashed them
into occupied buildings in both New York City (East Realm) and
Arlington, Virginia (Atlantia). Deaths and injuries are as yet not fully
reported but are reasonably expected to be in the thousands of dead and
tens of thousands injured.
As of now, we can not know that our SCAdian kin were involved but I
think it irrelevant. We must assume that our kin, their families,
associates and even acquaintances will be among the fallen. Even if not,
the sheer horror of what's happened will be with our brethren to the
east for the rest of our lives.
With that in mind, I would ask that each person attending Autumn War
bring an extra place setting to be placed on the easternmost side of
their table. I ask that this be done to act to remind each of us that
some of ours or those beloved of ours are battling for their lives and
some too have failed in that task.
Set out a place service at your feast or potluck. Set up a bottle of
whatever reminds you of good times. Drive in a sword or spear into the
ground at the east of your encampment and keep this safe and well tended
over the War.
This isn't an order or a mandate, it's a request from the Lord High
Instigator of the An Tir Seventh Cavalry.
Any other types of monuments to this tragedy and the brave people
battling it will be equally appreciated.
    I remain Your's in Service,

    Cairbre
