As with any very large breaking news story, the Press is as confused as we
are. We won't know a coherent story for several hours--and won't know the
half of the story in a few days. Remember Oaklahoma? Lots of incorrect
information was reported at the beginning.
(My Dad told me he watched two newscasters make innane comments as the WTC
tower fell to the ground in the video feed. They were completely unaware of
the building falling.)
Spreading rumors will not help. Log onto your local newspaper or TV news
web site and see what they have to say.
After I e-mailed the Baltimore Sun (www.sunspot.net) pleading for more
information on how we could help the Red Cross, they added a page on how to
help. They will be adding to it throughout the night.
Focus your energy on what you CAN do, not on what may or may not be true.
Watch the news. Follow their advice. Help where you can.
Please don't spread rumors, even by asking if one is true. It just adds to
already stressful times.
Regards!
