Unto our Brothers and Sisters of the Kingdom of Atlantia does the Shire
of Sylvan Glen of the Fair Kingdom of AEthelmearc send greetings. We
wish to take a few moments of your time to announce our upcoming event.

The Sixth Annual Seige of Glengary

                   September 28th - September 30th
2001
As autumn approaches, our fair kingdom's neighbors begin to cast
covetous eyes upon Aethelmearc's mountainous beauty. In this
joyous
time of harvest plenty, vast armies intent upon conquest descend
upon
the fortress at Glengary, the gateway of our small shire.

Come forth, Oh Aethelmearc, and defend thy people against
the amassing Armys from the South and North of our fair
             Kingdom!

                        Martial activities will abound.

For heavy combat, there will be a torchlight tourney on Friday
night,
followed by battles all day Saturday including a field battle, a
bridge
       battle, and the seige itself.

Archers and seige weapons are welcome!

Also, new to the Seige this year:

                         Fencing!

Activities include a torchlight tourney Friday night and various
civilized amusements throughout the day Saturday. Fencers will
help
determine the fate of the seige!

Gentles with spirits more competitive than bloodthirsty will find
archery and thrown weapons activities including Royal Rounds on
Saturday.

But all is not grim war at Glengary! Artisans will display their
skill in an A&S competition, in which entries should have a
theme of Nature.
There will be dancing for the light-footed and the light-hearted,
and an
informal bardic circle Saturday night for the delight of audience
and
entertainer alike. Saturday will also include children's
activities, a
silent auction, and we hope to offer a Page School class in
children's
Rennaisance dance. And, of course, there will be the feast.
Seats for
the feast are limited to 100, so send reservations early!
