Aw, Magnus! Afraid of a little Anglo-Saxon? It's pronounced "gee (as in
giddy-up) beer - skip", or alternately, "beer - ship" and carries the
meaning not of a beer-bash all-out-party, but of an evening of fellowship
and semi-formal entertainment, where the mead (not beer! Weird, eh?) and ale
flow freely and the drinkers tell tales and sing songs to entertain their
friends.
I can't believe you'd be appalled by the idea, story-spinner that you are. I
know a little tongue-twisting can't scare a big Mongol like you! Wait -
"Magnus"... isn't that.... Saxon???
