Please allow me to apologize in advance and I did not mean to single out the
poster of the above post but I have a small opinion on this subject.
I have deleted most of this thread because it seemed at first glance holding
some merit of inquiry. It seems to have come to a point of discussion that
is something else. Some prize to catch. Some point to win. Some title to
hold.
I for one have no need of any of these. I came to learn and play and make a
new family and pass on what I may know. Life as I hoped to find has been
quite successful for me and most of those around me. I learn something
every time I get on line to one of the lists or meet with sisters and
brothers in the society. I get to show folks the silly and sometimes good
things that I have learned. I get to hug friends. I get to dress up in
costumes. I get to do so many things I never even dreamed of doing 12 years
ago when I came to the SCA. For me the objective has been met. Honestly if
someone asked me to accept some Kingdom level honour, well....thanks....I
already have what I came for.
