But if it takes 8-10 years of consistent effort to attain the current
*AoA* levels of awards, how high a bar will there be for the *Grant*
level awards?  A month or two before getting one's Pelican?

(And lest you query the time-frame -- my own experience is all I have
to go on.  I started as a working herald in 1991, took over the
Lochmere herald's job a couple of years later, and held it for 6
years before moving on to my current office.  I received my Golden
Dolphin in 2000.  You do the math.)
