Wasn't there a plane a few years ago that lost a door and a row of
seats (including a couple of passangers) and still managed to land
safely (in Hawaii, as best I remember)?  A few bullet holes in the
fuselage isn't going to cause the plane to explode like a balloon!

I've heard a suggestion that people with concealed carry permits (who, 
bear in mind,  have to have a certain amount of training/testing to get
their permits) be allowed to carry on planes.  Might be worth thinking
about...

Well said!  (Though let's put "surely" ahead of "swiftly"...)

Agreed.  And add to that those who are attacking mosques and Arab-
Americans.  I've heard stories of *some* Arabic students (and perhaps
others) cheering the attack, and *those* (if true) should be pointed 
east and invited to start swimming, but let's not blame _all_ Arabs 
and/or Moslems for the actions of a few...
