.....that bin laden is under house arrest----don't jump to
conclusions...isabella
Dear Friends and Gentle People,
Indeed does the Fair Isabella give us good advise. We must not jump to
conclusions; we must act only after the facts of this horrific event are
known. But we must also maintain our resolve in the face of the possible
surrender of this bin Laden, hateful criminal though he may be. He did not
act alone, in this matter. He must surely have had the assistance of many
people, both in and out of his organization.. It is not out of character
for a person such as this to offer himself as a "martyr" for his cause. Let
us not be swayed from our determination to ferretr out terrorism, wherever
it exists, by this seemingly easy "victory". The surrender of Usama bin
Laden will not address the root of the problem. Terrorism is the bane of
modern society. All terrorists, of whatever stripe or creed, nation or
religion, must be pursued with the full commitment of the Civilized World.
This includes the terrorists of Northern Ireland as much as it does those of
Hamas or Usama bin Laden. Only when the last grovelling lick-spittal of
ideological "purity" has been crushed under the heel of an outraged planet
can we consider this job to be done.
The invocation of Artical 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty is probably the
most important step toward unity of action which we have seen to date. I
fervently hope that all nations will join together to eliminate the Forces
of Evil who have initiated this apocraphal conflict. All terrorists are
alike on their commitment to sacrifice innocent lives to further their
causes. And all must perish under the righteous sword of an outraged world.
Ragnarok is upon us! Let us not fail to pursue the conflict to its end.
I do not advocate the indescrimanate slaughter of the peorple of Afganistan
or Iraque or of any country whose leadership has sheltered and supported
those groups who have rained so much misery on a suffering world. Those
populations, propagandized and oppressed as they are, are as much victims as
are the rest of us. Rather do I call for those leaders to pay the price of
their crimes. We have the power, if the world bands together. I can only
hope that we have the will.
The previous is the Opinion of Vernon Willet, known in the Society as
Werhener von Ingolstadt. This opinion is born the horror and frustration
which has been building for years as I have watched the fanatics of the
world visit terror upon us. Peace be with you.
Werhener
