Alas, dear lady, the few heraldry programs out there have serious
limitations, as you have found. Ask around in your group and see if
you can't find someone to draw your device for you. If such are not
available, borrow some heraldry books from the library and do a
copy-cut-and-paste; use InterLibrary Loan to find anything by Carl
Alexander Von Volborth. Go on-line and look for clipart; there's a
lot out there.

Alternatively, consider a simple device that you *can* draw -- you
are going to want to put it on lots of things, and it's much easier
to be able to draw it yourself. Remember that a device doesn't have
to say anything about your likes ("I love unicorns) or your
activities in the SCA ("I like fighting and drinking, so I have to
have a sword and a beer mug")-- it only has to say "Diane is here!"

potatoes, but it didn't work.
