I whole-heartedly agree with Duke Logan's sentiments here.  Do what you
enjoy, help out where you can, and let awards be a pleasant surprise.  The
only reason I can see for creating new orders is if their Majesties lack the
means of appropriately recognizing someone they feel deserves it.  I can see
how this may be true for some who practice the alternative martial arts, but
it's hard to see how it would hold for service, the arts or traditional SCA
fighting.  If I'm missing something, please enlighten me; I do think it
would be a mistake to establish another level of awards in these areas
simply to keep up with the Joneses in other kingdoms.
