the strike in DC hit the Pentagon, not the city.  Unless someone was working 
in the building, they would be in no danger.

On the other hand, the smoke from the Pentagon could be seen from the city of 
Rockville, Md.  (Rockville is on the other side of DC from the Pentagon in Va.
