Dear friends, family, and colleagues:
In the last month since the tragic events of September 11th, we have
watched the outpouring of donations headed to New York City. The
families of the firefighters and others lost in the disaster are
getting the help they need -- but the families of the military and
civilian workers lost in the Pentagon are being all but forgotten.
To aid them, we are raffling off a quilt made by Lucinda in the days
following September 11th. We hope to raise $2000 for the World
Trade Center/Pentagon Fund sponsored by Federal Employees Education
and Assistance Fund. The raffle is being sponsored by the local
council of the Knights of Columbus; their page on the raffle and
description of the quilt is at:

A picture of the quilt is at:

This is a large picture that may take a while to download -- please
be patient!
The stars are shown in white and various shades of red on a blue
background scattered with tiny white stars. The border has themes
from songs about the USA, such as America the Beautiful and Stars and
Stripes. The quilt is 47" wide and 56" high, a good size for a crib
quilt, laprobe, or wall hanging.
The tickets will be $2 each. If you would like to help, please email
us and we will send you further information. If you know someone who
would be interested, please feel free to forward this message to
them.
