My mother-in-law called my wife up this morning to tell her about the
article -- mainly because there's one picture of the crowd watching the
field battle and you can see my wife sitting on a hay bale (we were
sitting in front the then Queen Mary-Grace and chatting with one of her
ladies-in-waiting).

The article had quite a few errors in it.  But this is to be expected.
There are even participants at Pennsic who didn't "get it". :-)

It's interesting they focused a lot on Dagorhir in the article, also.  It
started out as a very small group here in Montgomery County in the late
70s & early 80s and has expanded beyond all imagination.  The reference to
the SCA as the 'benevolent Big Brother' to Dagorhir was amusing (when I
was in Dagorhir in the early 80s, the SCA was regarded as a bunch of
authenticity snobs).
