Actually, they DID consider themselves in fealty to the then King and 
Queen...but nowhere in the charter did it say that they considered themselves 
in any kind of fealty to the Crown or the Kingdom. So if those two particular 
gentles ever sat the throne again, things might be different.

BTW, the original charter burned in a house fire some years ago.
