Greetings everyone!  Below is the event flyer for the upcoming Winter
Solstice.  It is my first effort at autocratting, so wish me luck!!!  There
will be heavy and rapier fighting this year along with dancing, bardic and a
glorious feast.  Come help us celebrate!

December 8th - Feast of the Winter Solstice
Canton of Aire Faucon, Lincolnton, NC

As the days grow shorter and colder, we all look to home, hearth, and the
celebration of the Winter Solstice.  Please join the Canton of Aire Faucon
as
we celebrate this time of the year with fighting, gaming, A&S, and a
fabulous
feast!

Fighting:  We will have both heavy and rapier, the formats of which will be
determined by number of entrants.
A&S:  We have 3 categories for A&S.  For our bards, we have:  1. Best
original poem, period style, theme of winter  2. Best performance of a
period
piece (singing, instrumental, recitation)  3. Best original song, period
style, any theme.  For our cooks, we have:  1. best main dish  2. best side
dish  3. best subtlety  4. best desert.  And, for all of us who like to add
flair to our feast tables, we have:  1 best table  2. best place setting.
(The best place setting can be a part of a table entry, but will not be
chosen from the winning table.)  No documentation will be required for any
entry, but extra credit will be given for providing it.
Other Activities:  There will also be children's activities and gaming for
both children and adults.  Come and show your skills at Chess, Backgammon,
Mancala and Nine Man Morris.
Feast:  Lord Giovanni de Moncellis will be preparing a bountiful feast, but
seating is limited, so reserve early.  For dietary concerns, please notify
the autocrat at SADUNNDEAL at aol.com.
Location:  The event will be held at the Pumpkin Center Community Center in
Lincolnton, NC  28092.  The site will open at 10am and close at 10pm.  No
alcohol is permitted.
Cost:  Day trip is $4.00 and on-board is $8.00.  Children under 6 are free,
but will need a reservation for feast.
