Greetings everyone!
The Clerk of the Signet, Lady Genevieve, and I have learned that the February
session of University will be held in the Shire of Berley Court (located in
Franklin or Courtland, Va - south central Virginia area) on Feb. 2.
Lady Genevieve has asked me, her deputy, to organize a scribal track for this
session. To that end I am asking for those of you who would like to teach a
class to contact me with the important information required by the Chancellor
of the University;
>>
Please include the following in your proposals:
SCA and legal name
Phone or email
Title of class
Brief description of class
Length of class
Enrollment limit, if any
Fee, if any
<<
Please also include whether you would prefer to teach in the morning or in
the afternoon.
We are trying to get two classrooms to set up two scribal tracks. If we get
two classrooms then we are going to have an all day workshop in one class for
beginning scribes where they will learn how to layout a scroll, a little bit
about calligraphy, an introduction to gold leaf and how to paint the scroll.
Hopefully they will have a partially completed scroll when they get done.
There will be a size limit on this workshop. I also am looking for
instructors for each part and back-up instructors for each part of the
workshop.
Since there will be a limit on the class size in track 2, I would like to
keep as many of the classes in track one open to as many scribes as possible.
So please come teach a class at university!
Thank you!
Lady Brandwyn Alston of the Rift (Deputy Clerk Signet)
