Belphoebe,

I researched the exact information for an SCA about four years ago (I think
the number was 300 prepaid back then). Some people may remember me asking
about it back then. I even took a straw poll at a local event, seeing if
there was interest. While there was a lot of interest, there was a definite
question if we could find 300 members willing to purchase the plates. A lot
of our members already have specialty plates, that they want to keep. The
idea never went away, but sort of slowed down.

HOWEVER, I have a definite counter suggestion. What about a more generic
"Historical Reenactor" licensee plate? One that would have a picture of a
civil war soldier on one side, and a knight in armor on the other. If we open
up that to the LARGE number of other time period, I think we could definitely
get the support. I think there are more US civil war reenactors in Virginia
than SCAers, but we also have lots of other time periods (take a look at the
yearly Military through Ages event).

  Any more thoughts?
