Greetings from Lord Mungoe McKlinchey

I was designated to act as Kingdom Siege Marshal By the Earl Marshal at Kingdom Crusade. As there has been a lot of message traffic concerning siege weapons I thought I would come out of the shadows and talk a little about it.

I wrote up Siege Weapon Rules and have them circulating to key figures in the Kingdom: The King, Earl Marshal, Sir THornbrandt, Sir Duncan, the Kingdom MOL, and a few others. As these are proposed rules they are subject to change, but they are based on the Society rules with a few things thrown in. I have no problem with copies being made by these good gentles.

We are trying to get a web page up at the Kingdom Marshal Page, but are having no luck hearing back from the Web minister, and I noticed that the whole Marshal's page is kinda hosed up. If the boss (Earl Marshal) has no beef I will forward copies of the rules, and the paper I wrote for War College. I have been doing a lot of work on this, I have just not had the means to get it out to the populace en mass through the Web Page.

So, I figure that having a meeting of some sort at 12th night, a class at University, and a opening event some time in April is the plan I am going to follow to get things rolling.

Some things to think about as you get going of desighn and building:

Uniformity of desighn-if we can all be on the same blue prints with the same amo, things are interchangable if something breaks.

Type of Engine-Trebs and ballista- Trebs work best if the amo bounces around and richocets off the enemy. Direct fire weapons (Balista) are very good for shooting into a mass and breaking up formations.

Amo-no greater then 1 pound, has to be red. Fighters have to have a easy way to distinguish seige amo that kills through a shield. "If it is red, you are dead."

Frindly fire-If you are planning on firing over the heads of our own people, you best make sure you have the range. You do not want to kill a Duke by accident, it makes them grumpy.

Armor-you will have to still wear minimum as do the Archers.

Desighn-check with me before blowing money on materials. It is easier to make changes on paper then 2x4's.

Atlantian Seige Enginers goal "One shot, one kill."
"Live the ordinary life in a inordinary way."
