Wouldn't you know it, I got this from someone in Texas...

SPECTACULAR DISPLAY OF PLASTICS IN D.C.
WTS e-newsletter reader and collector Charles Potter tipped us off to a
sensational diorama of plastic toy soldiers on display in Washington D.C.
The National Geographic Society is hosting a huge diorama of a medieval
castle featuring over 2,500 plastic knights on display. It sits in the
middle of the new Explorers Hall at the Geographic Society's building on
16th street, two blocks north of the White House. According to Potter, the
castle is 1/25 scale while the figures are 1/32. Hundreds of knights are
shown charging out of the castle on horseback onm their way to meet up with
others coming from an opposing fort. Everywhere figures can be seen
clamoring up wooden ladders as they lay siege to the nearly impregnable
castle. Many side vignettes include the King in the keep knighting a
knight, figures cooking around the hearth, knights sleeping in the barracks,
and a lone peacock sitting on the roof of the great tower.

The exhibit runs through May 28th, so if you're in the area, make a point of
stopping in to the National Geographic Society's building during regular
business hours, or on Saturday or Sundays during the daytime. Thanks
Charles for the tip-off!
