Hey all. Francesca (My Lady) and I were lucky enough last night to go to a
prescreening of a Knight's Tale.

Here are the thoughts from a SCAdian's point of view.

The armor: 99% Perfect ... Great stuff (Or at least had the look of: Yeah,
that look's about right)
The garb: As far as I could tell, all pretty much right on track EXCEPT for
one character, who constantly had 'wrong' stuff on.
The fighting: Good stuff, looked right, felt right, fun to watch.
The plot: Predictible, but fun!

The problem: Now, this problem is only from MY point of view, and of the
point of view of a 'purist'. And that is that they 'had fun with
it'. While they obviously went to GREAT lengths to make this movie look
period, be period, etc. There were about 3 or 4 times (including the garb
for the one above mentioned character), when they 'had fun with it', and
pulled in big anachronisms ... mostly to attempt to make parallels with
'modern life'. Things, for example, to show to the modern audience how the
Jousting filled the 'hole' that modern sports have for us now.

On this note. They did it well, it made you chuckle, and it was a fun
movie to watch, I do reccomend that all go and see it.

However; for myself, it is these 'fun things' that took it from the status
of: "OMG, I love this movie, they did everything perfect, I MUST OWN THIS
ON DVD" ... Down to the status of: "Hey, It's a fun movie to watch, go do so!"
