Could not agree with you more regarding the site,
Hrothgar.  However, if I had a close friend building a
permanent structure on someone else's land, I would
have some concerns.  I think that given our mutual
interest in the medieval and in the SCA that, as
friends, we should take an active and supportive
interest in what the kingdoms do.

In Slippery Rock, land is cheap and you can buy house
for under $25,000.  As of this morning I have a
realtor looking for buildable land (perc or no)
ajacent to Coopers.  It would be nice if we could
score an acre of our own, which would grow in value
over the years, to do with as we please.  In the event
Coopers is ever sold for development we wouldn't loose
out. Failing that, a contract with Coopers protecting
that investment might be nice.

Again, I think this is a great project and pointedly,
it is not my money.  In support of my SCA friends I
plan on lending my labor to the project and I hope
others will join me in making this years Pennsic the
best ever!
