If anyone is interested in doing some Bayeux Tapestry embroidery, a thread I 
have used with great success is called "Zephyr".  It's 50% merino wool and 
50% tussah silk.  It gives a wonderful shimmer to your work.

The same company that makes that thread also makes a "Superfine Merino" 
thread the same size as the Zephyr that's 100% merino wool.  Also a good 
thread for the Bayeux technique.


Check your local weaving shop.
