[MR] basic guide to helm making?

Good Morning geltlefolk
I have heard the call and am preparing to sally forth into the realm of 
heavy fighting.  Being a newbie I fully expect to make all manner of errors. 
  However, there are some aspects where I cannot afford to err for the 
amusement or chagrin of you-all.

Namely armor.  I am fairly handy with tools and welder, and plan on building 
what I can.  I need to start to the top, with a helmet.  Is there a place on 
the web where I can get tips on armor construction, basic plans, etc 
(already have the minimum construction standards)?

Any and all replies will be greatly appreciated.
