As I have always understood it, you can be a monk, or a nun, or a
druid...you just can't preach to people..

Religion, and religious figures were a very imortant part of the midle ages,
and you would have seen these people.  However, you didn't have to step
inside the church (or the mosque) and noone in the SCA should take the
church outside so that you have no choice in the matter.
