How about photographs, ie digital style? I have an Intel digicam that I have
produced Documentation Grade (those with an Engineering or Print background
will recognize this) reproductions of circutry with it. I would be willing
to volunteer it and myself if a "Hell Bent for Leather" Team of volunteers
and Society CoH personnel were willing to attempt making a dent in the
scanning backlog.
Think about this.... when this was all done those filing cabinets could be
vaulted somewhere and the database and current submissions would be the only
thing L(K/Q)ofA would have to deal with. How many hours would it save? Just
a thought....

18 filing cabinets and 27 banker's boxes last I checked. I am told that
the current staff is moving more inactive files out of the cabinets and
creating more boxes, in order not to have to acquire another cabinet for
quite a while.

One out of every two sheets would jam the feeder. Possibly more than that.
I am not kidding -- most of the sheets are in pretty rough shape. And what
do you do with the ancient devices whose "forms" are paper napkins?
(Admittedly an uncommon case but we *do* have quite a few.)
