To the best of my knowledge, a single compilation of SCA sumptuary law
has not been made, especially not with the imprimatur of the Laurel Queen
of Arms. That means that there is an opportunity for someone to make that
compilation; I suspect strongly that a place could be found for it on the
official web site. Interested parties should contact Mistress Jaelle
(jaelle at radix.net).
The SCA Armorial lists most of the items of regalia as "ragalia", registered
to the Society. The Glossary lists items in Table 1. It can be found on the
web at http://www.sca.org/heraldry/coagloss.html -- scroll down about two
thirds of the way.
One would have to dive through the Laurel Letters, particularly the cover
letters, to find the Wilhelm ruling I referred to. I don't have a year/month
to work from. Worse, that letter may not be up on the web. As Morsulus
Herald, I do have a nearly complete run of Laurel letters in the files.
I might see if my protege is willing to do a file dive there. (Hi Pedro :))
Corpora itself will be silent, as the regulation of regalia is delegated to
the Laurel Sovereign. Likewise, kingdom law should be silent on the subject,
as the corporate rules are implied, and none are defined by the kingdom.
The Laurel section of the SCA web site is the best bet for gleaning data.
I'd be happy to work with you, Rachel, to help verify your data.
yours,
Herveus
