Vels, you quoted Corpora, but I don't think you understood it.
To pull two relavant bits from the Policy on Religion:
"However, this provision is in no way intended to discourage the study of
historical belief systems and their effects on the development of Western
culture."
And
"Except as provided herein, neither the Society nor any member acting in its
name or that of any of its parts shall interfere with any person's lawful
ceremonies, nor shall any member discriminate against another upon grounds
related to either's system of belief."
These explicitly state that religion in the SCA is NOT forbiden. You just
can't perform religious ceremonies that imply they're sponsored by the SCA.
Want to do a 12th century chanted mass at an event? No problem! Do it in
your camp. Heck, if the site had a chapel and I was the autocrat, you could
do your ceremony in the chapel if you wanted to.
Religion in the SCA is allowed. Forcing other to participate is forbidden.
Not unlike the First Ammendment to the Constitution. The SCA won't
establish a religion; but we won't prohibit the free exercise thereof.
Regards!
